At the beginning of January, 2001, Mrs Ibifuro Anne Wakama, a Christian who loves God passionately, decided to pray for God’s directions concerning an intended academic pursuit. In the course of her waiting, on 7th of January, 2001, the Lord spoke to her and said, “I have called you to care for widows; show them my love and let them know that I care”.
This call changed the course of her life. Rather than going for the intended higher academic pursuit, She went to a Bible School for a one year certificate course.
On the 26th of December, 2001, Mrs Wakama invited widows to her house at #7 Ejoh-close, Amadi Flats, Port Harcourt to have a “Get-together”in memory of her late husband who died on 25th December, 1991.
During the party, widows were encouraged to share their personal testimonies and experiences. Those experiences include, but are not limited to: - crisis in confidence, insecurity, improper medical care, problems relating to accommodation and the proper upbringing of children, financial stress, loneliness and the like.
The first fellowship of the ministry was held on 25th January, 2002. Most of the widows who attended the Get-together party were all present. Thus widows’ Love World Outreach Ministry was founded by Mrs Ibifuro Anne Wakama. |
