Pastor (Mrs) “Furo Wakama is the Founder and President of Widow’s Love World Outreach Ministry in Port Harcourt.
She was born in Okirika in the early 50s’ to Late High Chief Gilbert Ibanichuka and Late Madam Leah Ibanichuka. She is the last born of her parents.
A devoted Christian, ‘Furo Wakama holds NCE, Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education and was set to pursue a Doctorate Degree when the need to answer God’s call became overwhelming. A seasoned educationist, She voluntarily retired from her position as Director of Supervision at the Post Primary School Board (P.P.S.B) to become a full time Minister. Being a widow herself, She through prayers and personal experience identifies with the peculiar problems of Widowhood. WLW Outreach Ministry (a Non- Denominational Help Ministry) was established to visit widows and their households – in their afflictions.
Mrs. Wakama was herself, widowed in 1991 at a rather young age, has braved life’s challenges, raising three (3) sons and a daughter in the fear of the Lord.
Today, She relies, as she always has, on her faith in God and the finished work of Christ as she devotes her time, energy and resources to the welfare of widows and the propagation of the gospel. This is her calling.
